Polish Blueberry Day Celebrated for the Ninth Time

The beginning of July is a special period for fruit lovers, marking the start of the Polish blueberry harvest. Cultivated in Poland for 50 years, blueberries have had their own holiday for the past nine years. Celebrated on July 1, Polish Blueberry Day symbolically opens the domestic season.

Blueberry cultivation is also an important part of the economy, creating thousands of jobs and driving growing exports that strengthen Poland’s position in the global berry market.

“Blueberries are our calling card in many markets. Consumers appreciate their quality and excellent taste. The continental climate works in our favor—cold nights and warm days, the combination of winter frosts and sunny summers, help achieve the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity that gives our fruit its unique flavor. A whole summer with blueberries is ahead of us. There will be no shortage of our superfruits,” concludes Dominika Kozarzewska, CEO of Polskie Jagody and member of the Board of Directors of the Polish Blueberry Promotion Foundation.
